The Shee 'Continuum': Celtic Connections

Since their formation in 2006, all-female sextet The Shee’s Border-crossing line-up and diverse repertoire – interweaving Scots, English, Gaelic and Americana material, old and new, with fine-tuned ensemble synergy - have won glowing plaudits around the Celtic world. Kicking off their 10th anniversary year are tonight’s premières of specially-commissioned new music, performed by The Shee with their six favourite folk composers: Andy Cutting, Brian Finnegan, Karine Polwart, Martin Simpson, Kathryn Tickell and Chris Wood.

The dual Orkney prodigy Gnoss – 19-year-olds Graham Rorie (fiddle/mandolin) and Aidan Moodie (guitar/vocals) – followed their 2015 Danny Kyle Open Stage Award with a festival-filled summer, and are soon to release their debut album.
